Iraq, Kuwait Discuss Regional Security Updates

Kuwait city: Kuwait's First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Sheikh Fahad Yousef Saud Al-Sabah, met today with Governor of Basra, Asaad Al Eidani, to discuss several matters of mutual interest, primarily the latest security developments in the region.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior stated that during his visit to Iraq, the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior reviewed with the Governor of Basra ways to enhance security coordination to bolster border security and serve the shared interests of both countries. This discussion took place within the framework of the fraternal relations between Iraq and Kuwait.

The Ministry's statement further detailed that at the conclusion of his visit, Sheikh Fahad Yousef Saud Al-Sabah inspected the Al-Abdali border crossing to assess the damage it sustained as a result of the Iranian aggression. He has directed the relevant authorities to quickly evaluate the damage and take the necessary measures to reopen the crossing as soon as possible, ensuring the return of normal traffic and serving the interests of both Iraq and Kuwait.
