Implementation of Development Road will Bolster Ties with Turkiye, Remaining Countries, Iraqi Premier Affirms

Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia’ Al Sudani affirmed that the Turkiye-Iraq Development Road Project is considered one of the critical and strategic projects prioritized by the Iraqi government.

He added that the implementation of this project will strengthen joint ties between Iraq and Turkiye, along with the remaining countries of the region within the common interests.

During his meeting on Sunday in Baghdad with the Turkish Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Abdulkadir Uraloglu, Al Sudani pointed out that the Development Road Project is the best, shortest and most co-effective corridor in terms of transportation, transit and connecting the Middle East with Europe.

Iraqi Prime Minister lauded the enthusiasm of the Turkish side to participate in carrying out the project, emphasizing the importance of the persistent technical dialogue between the two nations to implement the project.

For his part, Uraloglu reaffirmed his country’s willingness to actively participate in the project, expressing
the satisfaction of the Turkish government with the plans set by Iraq, as well as it steps and constructive efforts in advancing and overhauling the Iraqi economy.

Meanwhile, Iraqi Minister of Transport, Razzaq Muhaibis Al-Saadawi, has so far, discussed with his Turkish counterpart several technical, legal, and financial issues related to this topic and reviewed its economic model, as well as methods of constructing and operating a variety of projects.

They stressed the importance of carrying out field trips to the land connection points and railways between the two nations. (QNA)
