Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said on Monday there is "no urgency" to ratify Sweden's accession to NATO. Speaking in parliament to open the autumn session, the Hungarian leader said: "There is no urgency from the government to push for support regarding Sweden's NATO accession, and Sweden's security is not under threat." In May 2022, following Russia's announcement of its military operation in Ukraine, Sweden applied for NATO membership, alongside Finland, which last April became the 31st member of NATO.
