Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC), represented by the staff of its Mental Health Department, won an international award for its excellence and efforts in its response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The World Health Organization’s Eastern Mediterranean Regional Office (EMRO) announced this win during the meeting of Regional Committee for the Eastern Mediterranean Countries for health care institutions. EMRO noted that among the elite staff who won the organization’s awards, Dr. May Al Muraisi, Senior Clinical Psychologist and Clinical Director for Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services at HMC, who won the Service Delivery Award.

EMRO explained that this award was given to Dr. May Al Muraisi and the mental health team at HMC in recognition of the concerted efforts they made in addressing mental health and well-being issues for the Qatari community during the COVID-19 pandemic, by establishing a mental health helpline in Qatar in record time.
