HIA Receives BSI Re-Certification for Covid-19 Protocols

Hamad International Airport (HIA) has been re-certified by the leading standards body, BSI (British Standards Institution), for its successful compliance with the safety and hygiene measures issued by the International Civil Aviation Organization’s (ICAO) Civil Aviation Recovery Taskforce (CART).

CART was formed in response to the exceptional circumstances imposed by the Corona pandemic “COVID-19”, with the aim of reducing the effects of the pandemic on the aviation industry sector globally, as well as providing practical and adaptive guidance that would contribute to achieving recovery a safe air travel.

Eng. Badr Mohammed Al Meer, Chief Operating Officer at HIA, said: “It is encouraging to see that our commitment to follow the highest industry benchmark for delivering a safe and secure airport environment is being recognized. HIA’s compliance to the CART health and safety guidelines has contributed to our position as the preferred travel hub for global passengers during the pandemic, providing travelers comfort and security throughout their journey”.
