Hamad International Airport (HIA), in partnership with Smith Detection, announced the application of advanced and innovative security screening technology at the airport’s main checkpoints, which will contribute to enhancing the security, service level and operational efficiency of security screening in an unprecedented way.

This advanced and innovative technology is an important part of the airport’s smart security program, which aims to provide smart and innovative solutions for security checks inside the airport campus, whose use will also be applied within the plans of the airport expansion project.

This pioneering and innovative technology allows passengers to keep liquids and electronic devices inside their bags during the security screening process, and also contributes to speeding up the screening processes through a capacity of up to six passengers with their luggage at the same time.
