HH the Amir and US President Discuss Strategic Partnerships at G7 Summit

Evian-les-bains: HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani met with HE President of the United States of America Donald Trump on the sidelines of the Group of Seven (G7) Summit in France.

According to Qatar News Agency, HH the Amir emphasized the strong strategic relations between Qatar and the United States, highlighting the significant trade partnership that has developed since the US President's visit to Qatar last year. HH the Amir noted Qatar's substantial investments in the United States and vice versa, expressing satisfaction with the current level of relations between the two nations.

During their discussion, HH the Amir expressed appreciation for the US President's efforts in the Middle East, reaffirming both countries' commitment to regional peace and stability. His Highness welcomed the agreement between the United States and Iran, affirming Qatar's support for efforts to secure a lasting agreement that enhances regional security.

The US President expressed gratitude to HH the Amir, praising the strong bilateral ties. He noted the agreement with Iran and its progress, commending Qatar's role in managing regional crises. He also acknowledged Qatar's investments in the US, pointing out opportunities for economic cooperation in industry, artificial intelligence, and the automotive sector.

The meeting addressed various topics, including regional and international developments, specifically in the Middle East. Discussions included efforts to promote maritime security in the Strait of Hormuz and ensure the smooth flow of international trade. Additionally, they discussed the memorandum of understanding between the US and Iran on outstanding issues, diplomatic efforts to resolve regional crises, and coordination on mutual interests, such as energy security and economic cooperation.

The meeting was attended by several key officials, including HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani from the Qatari side, and HE Secretary of State Marco Rubio and HE Secretary of the Treasury Scott Bessent from the US side, along with other members of the official delegations.
