Health Minister, Eastern Mediterranean WHO Regional Director visit National Charter Monument

Health Minister Dr. Jaleela S.Jawad Hasan visited Bahrain National Charter Monument with WHO Regional Director for the Eastern Mediterranean Dr. Ahmed Al Mandhari.

They reviewed the ancient history of the Kingdom and the time periods of providing health services in Bahrain.

The minister affirmed her keenness to continue documenting the successful experiences of Bahrain’s efforts, especially gains of the programs and strategies that have enriched the health sector. Especially, during the Coronavirus pandemic and the national response that created an international model thanks to the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the national efforts to combat the Coronavirus pandemic.

She stressed the need to continue strengthening the partnership with the WHO to achieve common health goals.

The minister noted the importance of cooperation with WHO and its role in strengthening efforts to develop and sustain the health sector at various levels, especially through efforts to address and prevent diseases in a manner that preserves human health and the safety of societies.

Dr. Al Mandhari thanked Bahrain’s government and people for recording outstanding achievments, preserving the history of the Kingdom in a way that enriches Bahrain’s past and present.

He praised the level of historical holdings and valuable information and the development that Bahrain has witnessed throughout the medical field’s history.

The director hailed the experience of the floating hospital, which was dedicated to divers and the likes of them, which he considered an achievement at that time due to the simple possibilities available back then.
