HE Eng. Abdulrahman Al Malki: Securing above 100 Vital Entities against Cyberattacks during World Cup

HE Engineer Abdulrahman bin Ali Al Farahid Al Malki, the President of the National Cyber Security Agency (NCSA), has said that NCSA constantly works on providing the best protection systems to maintain the security of cyberspace in the country while hosting the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 tournament.

HE emphasized that the activation of the plans related to sporting events in general, and the World Cup event, in particular has started, for the purpose of proactive and effective response to potential cyber threats and hackings. He added that the Agency’s cadres and team works are working relentlessly and around the clock to ensure the promotion and strengthening of cyberspace security across the country, based on the framework of cyber security and the best world-class practices.

He added that part of the agency’s preparations for the tournament are the testing of some systems related to tournament through simulating the hackings of programs, applications and networks of the institutions operating during the tournament. This also includes testing the preparedness and effectiveness of these institutions to face hacking attempts through conducting the periodic scanning and testing of the stadiums’ networks as well as evaluating potential and dangers of cyber security for above 100 vital entities in the State of Qatar, as he said.
