Gold Edges Lower as Markets Await Fed Rate Decision

Doha: Gold prices edged lower on Wednesday as investors held back from making large bets ahead of the Federal Reserve's monetary policy decision, with markets widely expecting an interest rate hike. Spot gold fell 0.1% to $4,288.48 an ounce, after touching its lowest level in more than a month on Monday. US gold futures for December delivery slipped 0.1% to $4,328.10 an ounce.

According to Qatar News Agency, among other precious metals, spot silver was little changed at $63.67 an ounce, while platinum fell 0.3% to $1,770.47. Palladium rose 1% to $1,301.61 an ounce.
