German Cup: Werder Bremen Cruise Past Hansa Luneburg

Werder bremen: Werder Bremen advanced to the second round of the German Cup with a 3-0 victory over hosts Hansa Luneburg today in their opening-round match.

According to Qatar News Agency, Jens Stage opened the scoring for Bremen in the 11th minute, before Niclas Fullkrug doubled the lead from the penalty spot in the 53rd. Ludovit Reis completed the win with a third goal in the 76th minute.

Elsewhere in the first round, Hoffenheim also secured their place in the next stage with a 4-0 win over Erzgebirge Aue, while Hannover cruised past hosts Hemelingen 9-1. Elversberg progressed with a 3-1 away victory over Duisburg.

Nurnberg edged Viktoria Cologne 5-4 on penalties after the match finished 1-1 following regular and extra time, while Hertha Berlin defeated Saarbrucken 4-2 in a shootout after their tie also ended 1-1.
