General Directorate for Narcotics Control foiled an attempt to smuggle 12,729,000 tablets of amphetamine hidden in a pomegranate shipment at Jeddah Islamic Port, said the directorate’s official spokesman, Major Marwan Al-Hazmi.

Al-Hazmi said that in coordination with the Zakat, Tax, and Customs Authority, four people were arrested. The two Egyptians, a Syrian, and a Yemeni were arrested and accused under preliminary legal measures and referred to Public Prosecution.
