FM continues contacts to stop serious escalation in Gaza

Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi on Monday continued talks he was holding via phone calls with his counterparts to stop the serious escalation in Gaza and its surroundings and stress the need of launching international action to ensure stopping the deterioration, protecting civilians, and respecting international humanitarian law.Safadi said all regional and international efforts must join forces to stop the escalation and exercise the utmost restraint and protect civilians, whom all international laws and humanitarian values affirm the need to protect and reject and condemn targeting them. He also called for reviving the peace process as the only way to resolve the conflict and achieve a just and lasting peace that guarantees the security and safety of all on the basis of the two-state solution.Safadi underscored that the continued escalation will inflame the conflict and will have disastrous impacts on the entire region.Safadi held talks with Foreign Ministers of Japan, Y?ko Kamikawa, Australia, Hon Penny
