Doha: The FIFA Technical Leadership Experts workshop kicked off for the third year in a row, at the Intercontinental Hotel in Doha on Monday, with the participation of 24 technical experts from various national federations under the FIFA umbrella. During the workshop, the attendees are set to discuss the technical leadership development programmes that FIFA will implement in 2023 and beyond.
FIFA’s technical leadership team, along with experts from the Global Football Development departement, are also present at the five-day workshop, which is held under the supervision of FIFA’s Development Department.
Also in attendance will be highly experienced members of the FIFA coaches and instructors panel, in addition to a group of technical directors and football development managers from different continental federations, and a number of international coaches.
For his part, Mansour Al-Ansari, Secretary General of the Qatar Football Association (QFA), welcomed the experts and officials from FIFA, and from the national and continental federations, and all attendees at the workshop, on behalf of His Excellency Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani, President of the QFA and members of QFA Executive Committee.
Stressing that hosting this event for the third year in a row is a matter of pride, Al-Ansari thanked FIFA for its confidence in Qatar, in addition to everyone who participated in organising and preparing this workshop.
Al-Ansari explained that Qatar’s hosting of these international events reflects its commitment to positively contributing to the development of technical expertise in the region and the world, and also reinforces Qatar’s standing as an important sports centre in the world of football, especially since the country has successfully hosted many major events, the latest of which is the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, in addition to many FIFA workshops.
The participants thanked the QFA for its excellent hosting and organisation of the workshop, along with the great interest, logistical support and professional standards that Qatar has always showcased in ensuring the success of different FIFA workshops and events.
The workshop for technical experts, which is being organised by FIFA for the third time, will continue on a daily basis from 11 AM in the morning until 7:30 PM in the evening.
