Fayez delivers speech at Global Council for Political Renewal conference

Amman: Senate President Faisal Fayez Sunday told the Global Council for Political Renewal (GCPR) that the world “needs will and decisive decisions towards rogue states that are outlaws of international law.”

At the second annual conference of the GCPR in Washington to support world peace and social justice, Fayez accused the international community and the United Nations of failing to enhance international cooperation and achieve international peace and security.

He added, “The peace that our world seeks is still missing, and our human society continues to suffer from conflicts and wars despite international charters issued by the United Nations and the right of peoples to freedom, independence and a safe life.”

He said, “The gap has widened between poor and rich countries, and many countries in the world are still suffering from the scourge of conflicts, and the best evidence of this is that the Palestinian people, who are still suffering from the longest occupation in human history due to the inability o
f the United Nations to implement its resolutions that support the right of the Palestinian people to establish their independent state.”

“As a result of the failure of the international community to build a humane society free of violence and weapons of mass destruction and the inability of the United Nations and its institutions to resolve conflicts and end conflicts, the humanitarian community is paying a heavy price today as a result of the Russian-Ukrainian war and the Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people in the occupied West Bank and the Gaza Strip,” Fayez added.

He added that His Majesty King Abdullah disagreed with the leaders of the US, the UK, France and Canada during a recent tour on their approach regarding the Palestinian cause and the Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories.
