Doha: European stock markets closed mixed on Friday, with regional shares edging lower as gains in the UK's benchmark index contrasted with declines across several major continental markets. The pan-European Stoxx 600 index fell 0.34% to close at 641.54.

According to Qatar News Agency, Germany's DAX lost 0.35% to finish at 24,828.12, while France's CAC 40 declined 0.47% to 8,338.81. In contrast, Britain's FTSE 100 rose 0.27%, ending the session at 10,600.37.
