The Euro-Med Monitor for Human Rights expressed its concern over the Israeli army's continued targeting of relief and ambulance teams in Lebanon in a clear and repeated pattern in a serious violation of the rules of international law, especially international humanitarian law. The Euro-Med Monitor said that the Red Cross, which is tasked with alleviating human suffering and promoting respect for the rights of people affected by armed conflicts and other situations of violence, must be respected as a neutral and impartial organization that carries out humanitarian work in field operations that assist and protect people who do not participate or have ceased to participate in hostilities.
