The Ministry of Interior announced entry and exit regulations to and from the State of Qatar during the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™, including suspension of entry of visitors effective from November 1, 2022.

The regulations were announced at a press conference held today at the General Directorate of Civil Defence. Brig. Abdulla Khalifa Al-Muftah, Director of Public Relations Department and head of Media Unit, Safety & Security Operations Committee for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™, and Col. Jassim Al Sayed, Executive Director, Office of the Commander of the Championship Security Operations.

Brig. Al-Muftah said that the entry of visitors to the country through its air, land and marine borders will be suspended effective from November 1, 2022, until December 23, 2022. However, he added that these decisions would not affect the exempted categories.

They are: Qatari citizens, residents and GCC citizens holding a Qatari ID card, holders of personal visas and work entry permits and humanitarian cases through the airport based on the approval from the official application platform.

Col. Jassim Al Sayed explained that ‘Hayya’ cardholders will be allowed to enter the country from November 1, 2022, until December 23, 2022, and they can stay in the country until January 23, 2023. He added that a platform for humanitarian cases mentioned in the decision would be launched in October, explaining the controls and procedures.

The Ministry of Interior calls on all to abide by the laws and regulations issued in this regard and not violate them to ensure the successful organization of the upcoming football event.
