Dollar Hits One-week High as US Resumes Attacks on Iran

New york: The US dollar held near a one-week high against major currencies in early Asian trading on Wednesday after the escalation of geopolitical concerns, which pushed oil prices higher.

According to Qatar News Agency, the dollar index, which measures the US currency against six major currencies, traded at 101.18, its strongest level since July 2. The New Zealand dollar gained 0.1% to $0.5681. The US dollar strengthened 0.1% against the Japanese yen to 162.28.

The euro slipped 0.1% to $1.1405, while the British pound fell 0.1% to $1.3353. Meanwhile, the Australian dollar remained steady at $0.6926.
