HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani met Tuesday with HE Mufti of Al Quds and the Palestinian Territories Sheikh Mohammad Ahmad Mohammad Hussein, who is currently visiting the State of Qatar.
During the meeting, they discussed the developments of the work of the Qatar Permanent Committee for the Support of Al Quds and the latest projects that are carried out through the committee.
HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs underlined the priority given by the State of Qatar to support the protection of Islamic and Christian holy places in Jerusalem, in addition to providing the necessary support to the Palestinian citizens there.
His Excellency reiterated the State of Qatar’s firm position toward the just Palestinian cause, the legitimate rights for the brotherly Palestinian people, and the establishment of its independent state on the borders of 1967 with eastern Jerusalem as its capital, calling on the international community to uphold its legal and moral responsibility toward Jerusalem and its sanctities and deter the occupation’s attempts to convert the conflict into a religious war.
