Department of Meteorology Warns of Poor Horizontal Visibility Inshore Tonight

Doha: Weather inshore tonight until 6:00 am on Wednesday will be humid, misty to foggy at places later, the Department of Meteorology said in its daily weather report, warning of poor horizontal visibility at places later. Offshore, it will be some clouds, hazy by night, the report added. Winds inshore will be mainly northeasterly to southeasterly at a speed of 03 to 13 knot, variable later. Offshore, it will be southeasterly to northeasterly at a speed of 03 to 13 knot gusting to 16 knot at times. Sea state inshore will be 1 feet. while offshore will be 1 to 3 feet surging to 4 feet at times. According to Qatar News Agency, the Department of Meteorology has issued a warning regarding poor horizontal visibility inshore due to expected foggy conditions later tonight. The weather report highlights that the inshore regions will experience humid conditions transitioning to misty or foggy weather in certain areas. Offshore conditions will include some clouds and haziness by nightfall.

The wind patterns inshore are anticipated to be predominantly northeasterly to southeasterly, with speeds ranging from 03 to 13 knots, and may vary later. Offshore winds will be from the southeasterly to northeasterly directions, maintaining similar speeds but with occasional gusts reaching up to 16 knots. Sea conditions inshore will be calm with waves at 1 foot, whereas offshore conditions will see waves between 1 to 3 feet, occasionally surging up to 4 feet.

Visibility inshore is projected to be between 04 to 09 kilometers, potentially dropping to 02 kilometers or less in some areas later, while offshore visibility will remain between 04 to 09 kilometers. Residents and travelers are advised to exercise caution due to the anticipated reduction in visibility during the night and early morning hours.
