Berlin: Czech tennis player Linda Noskova, world's No. 13, won the Berlin Open WTA 500 title on Sunday after defeating world No. 4 Jessica Pegula of the United States in three sets, 6-4, 4-6, 6-3. According to Qatar News Agency, the 21-year-old Czech started strongly by taking the opening set before Pegula leveled the contest by winning the second. Noskova, however, regained control in the decisive third set to secure the championship. The final was delayed for six hours due to heavy rain, forcing tournament organizers to postpone play before Noskova ultimately prevailed over Pegula, the 2024 Berlin Open champion. The title is expected to propel Noskova into the top 10 of the WTA rankings for the first time in her career. It marks the second WTA title of Noskova's career ahead of her participation in the Hamburg Open next week as part of her preparations for Wimbledon.
