Doha: China on Wednesday successfully launched the modified ZQ-2 Y-1 carrier rocket into space from a commercial space innovation pilot zone in northwest China. The rocket took off at 10:00 a.m. Beijing Time and successfully delivered two test satellites into their planned orbits. According to Qatar News Agency, the ZQ-2Y rockets are an advanced version of the "ZQ-2" carrier rocket, which has been independently developed by the company. This launch marks a significant achievement as the ZQ-2 is the world's first rocket powered by a combination of liquid oxygen and methane to reach orbit. This advancement demonstrates a breakthrough in employing new, low-cost liquid fuels for Chinese launch vehicles, enhancing the country's capabilities in space exploration and technology development.
