Mr. Engineer Manaf Ahmed Al-Sada, Director of the Centre for Geographic Information Systems (CGIS) at the Ministry of Municipality, has affirmed that the aerial photographing of the State of Qatar was completed last April, aerial photographs were processed and the production of modern adjusted vertical photographs of the State was completed. He noted that they will be available for all state institutions via GISNet within the upcoming few days and the complete production of modern digital line charts is underway.
He added that a number of specialized GIS applications has been upgraded as per the request of a number of government entities within and outside the Ministry of Municipality. They include, for example, a remote control system run by municipal inspection monitoring center, the application of geographic database for recycling factories in Al Afjah Zone, and a high-resolution photographing of the same zone by a drone. Moreover, GIS for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™ has been upgraded to follow up on all tasks performed by the Ministry of Municipality related to this event via GIS, as he explained.
