Cabinet Condemns Iranian Attacks and Approves Key Agreements

Doha: HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defense Affairs Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman bin Hassan Al-Thani chaired the Cabinet's regular meeting on Wednesday at the Amiri Diwan. Following the meeting, HE Minister of Justice and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Ibrahim bin Ali Al Mohannadi addressed several key issues.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Cabinet began by renewing its condemnation of the Iranian attacks on Qatar and other fraternal countries, demanding their immediate cessation in line with international law and United Nations Charter principles. The Cabinet emphasized Qatar's right to respond and its commitment to protecting its sovereignty and citizens.

The Cabinet also reiterated Qatar's ongoing efforts to find diplomatic solutions to regional escalations, coordinating with regional and international partners to ensure state sovereignty and regional stability.

Further, the Cabinet extended condolences to the families of seven martyrs from Qatar's Armed Forces and others affected by a helicopter crash in Qatari territorial waters, expressing wishes for mercy and solace to the bereaved families.

The Cabinet reviewed topics on its agenda, including the Shura Council's approval of a draft law on international treaties, aimed at enhancing legal oversight and aligning national legislation with international obligations.

Additionally, the Cabinet approved a draft memorandum of understanding for political consultations between Qatar and Estonia's foreign ministries.

The meeting concluded with reviews of reports on the Qatar Financial Centre strategy for 2024-2030, Qatar Rail protection mechanisms, and international participations in labor and transport forums. Appropriate decisions were made on these reports.
