Cabinet Approves Draft Law on Nationalizing Jobs in Private Sector

HE Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, chaired the regular meeting held by the Cabinet at the Amiri Diwan yesterday noon.

During the meeting, the Cabinet considered the topics on the agenda, including approval in principle of:

1- A draft law on nationalizing jobs in the private sector.

2- A Cabinet draft decision regarding the incentives, facilities and privileges granted under the law on the nationalization of jobs in the private sector.

The draft law has been prepared for the purpose of the nationalization of jobs in private sector, to support optimal investment in national labor forces.

Under the provisions of the draft law, a Cabinet decision, based on a proposal by the Minister of Labour, defines the nationalized jobs in each of the work sectors, in light of the nationalization plans and rates in each.

A Cabinet decision, based on the Minister’s proposal, defines as well the incentives that may be granted to the entities subject to the provisions of this law, the facilities and privileges that may be granted to the entities that are committed to nationalization rates, and the financial incentives that may be granted to Qatari employees in these entities.
