HE Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, chaired the Cabinet’s regular meeting held yesterday morning at its seat at the Amiri Diwan.
Following the meeting, HE Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs issued the following statement:
At the outset of the meeting, the Cabinet applauded the outstanding and exceptional success of the opening ceremony of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 on Sunday, which was patronized by HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, and attended by a number of Their Majesties, Highnesses and Excellences’ leaders of state and heads of delegations of sisterly and friendly countries.
The Cabinet highlighted the important contents of HH the Amir’s speech when opening the tournament, and the dazzling preparation, organization, and directing of the historic opening ceremony; hailing the ceremony’s performances which carried messages of deep meanings, reflected the bright images of the civilizational and cultural heritage of the State of Qatar and the Arab world and emphasized the human dimension of sport and its influential role in uniting people and spreading a culture of peace, tolerance, mutual respect and acquaintance among nations.
