Bahrain King and Egyptian President Discuss Regional Security Concerns

Doha: King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of the Kingdom of Bahrain met with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi in Manama to discuss regional and international developments of mutual interest. The meeting concentrated on evolving incidents in the region and their implications for security and stability.

According to Qatar News Agency, the leaders addressed efforts to manage these incidents and exchanged perspectives on potential outcomes. A significant point of discussion was Security Council Resolution 2817, which condemned Iran's attacks on the Arab Gulf states and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. The resolution demands an unconditional halt to these attacks and the cessation of any provocation or threat to neighboring countries.

Additionally, both leaders emphasized the necessity to address the threats posed by Iran, specifically concerning the disruption of navigation freedom in the Strait of Hormuz. Their dialogue underscored the urgency of maintaining stability and security in the region.
