Bahrain Authorities Arrest Four Nationals on Charges of Spying for IRGC

Bahrain: Bahrain's Ministry of Interior announced Thursday four people had been arrested on charges of spying for Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), according to a ministry statement on Thursday.

According to Qatar News Agency, the statement detailed that the four suspects - three men and a woman - are Bahraini nationals. It also noted that a fifth suspect had managed to flee the country, evading arrest.

The ministry's statement revealed that one of the suspects had taken photographs and recorded coordinates of vital and significant sites within the Kingdom. This was done using high-precision imaging equipment, and the data was sent to the IRGC through encrypted software.

The statement further confirmed that all necessary legal measures have been taken against the detainees. The individuals have been referred to the Public Prosecution for further legal proceedings.
