Artificial Intelligence (AI) Students Club at Qatar University (QU) will provide students with a wide space for creativity, innovation and experimentation in the field of Artificial Intelligence.
Dr. Mohammad Diab, Associate Vice President for Student Life and Services said: “We affirm in the student life and services department in particular our permanent support for such initiatives. We aim to work with them to provide a stimulating learning environment for students which will be characterized by high-quality professional standards to contribute together in building a distinguished university graduate.
“Artificial intelligence has undoubtedly become one of the main pillars upon which the various technology industry is based, and it is one of the features of the Fourth Industrial Revolution that we are living in now. It will serve the various state institutions, ministries and our society to make its mark in this field, enhanced by the spirit of leadership and innovation,” said Khalid Naji, Dean of College of Engineering.
Abdulaziz Al-Ali, Director of KINDI Computing Research Center at College of Engineering and newly appointed Advisor to the Artificial Intelligence Club, “Artificial intelligence has now become the main driver of modern solutions everywhere, Having a student organization will shape the minds of the next generation to understand the sciences related to Artificial Intelligence and how to face the relevant upcoming challenges.”
Musallam al-Qawasmi, Student and head of the Club said, “I look forward to elevating the club to the highest ranks, as we will contribute to achieve Qatar’s National Vision and we aim to participate in various international conferences, leaving our mark in this field. I urge students with creative thinking to join us and help us.”
Yaman Qatmawi, Student and Vice President of Club, said: “As the Vice President of (AI) Club, I congratulate Qatar University on the birth of a new club that aims to spread science and knowledge in one of the most prominent field of our future. We, the organization’s work team, recognize the importance of giving students opportunities for scientific research and discovering their potential. Enriching their knowledge from the torrent of artificial intelligence sciences. For this reason, we plan to achieve our lofty goal by presenting a number of projects, events and special educational workshops to connect students with experts in this field. I am honored to be a member of a team that will conduct the winds of change for the future of millions of people locally, regionally and globally.
For her part, student Lulwa Al-Thani, a member of the club’s leadership team, called on all Qatar University students to join the Artificial Intelligence Club, which will benefit in integrating artificial intelligence into our society by allowing machines to perform a variety of human tasks in a more efficient and effective manner.
