Doha: HE Arab League Secretary-General, Ahmed Aboul-Gheit, condemned the Israeli crime of attacking Qatar’s sovereignty as a grave violation of all human principles and civilized norms, especially the long-standing rule against targeting mediators or negotiators.
According to Qatar News Agency, Aboul-Gheit, addressing the Emergency Arab-Islamic Summit, emphasized that the most dangerous aspect of this aggression was the perpetrator’s belief that their act was justified under any pretext, allowing them to descend into unprecedented levels of violation with impunity.
He stated that attacking peaceful people, negotiators, and mediators is nothing but cowardice, and flaunting such acts reflects moral decay rarely seen in international relations. The summit aimed not only to show solidarity with Qatar but also to convey a clear message to the international community about the urgent need to end the silence toward the conduct of this rogue state.
Aboul-Gheit highlighted that remaining silent on violations of law undermines the international order, reminding that two years of silence on crimes in Gaza led the occupation’s leaders to believe that any act is possible without consequence.
He stressed that leaders of the occupying state are liable before the International Criminal Court and urged global defenders of law to unite in pursuing war criminals accused of genocide in Gaza and violations of sovereignty.
Finally, he addressed the Israeli people, stating that their government’s actions won’t be forgotten, and warned that such actions devastate foundations for peaceful coexistence, putting future generations in a future dominated by violence and conflict.
