Cairo: The Arab League has reaffirmed that the Iranian attacks on Oman, two UAE oil tankers, and Kuwait are totally unacceptable. This came in telephone conversations Secretary-General Nabil Fahmy held Wednesday with the foreign ministers of the three countries. According to Qatar News Agency, discussions with Badr Albusaidi, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al Ahmad Al Sabah, Fahmy slammed the assaults as criminal, saying they violate international law and UN Security Council Resolution 2817. He stressed that the security and safety of maritime traffic, as well as respect for the international rules-based order, constitute fundamental pillars of social security and global economic stability. Fahmy called on the international community to assume its responsibilities in keeping further escalation at bay. In addition, he reiterated that the bloc fully stands with the three countries in confronting these attacks, offering the League's full support for them in all measures they take to safeguard their security and territorial integrity. He reaffirmed that the League rejects any actions that would endanger the security and stability of Arab nations.
