Arab and Islamic Groups Denounce Houthi Attack on Medina Power Station

Medina:Arab and Islamic organizations have strongly condemned a Houthi attack on a power distribution station in Medina that serves the Prophet's Mosque.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Arab League stated that targeting a critical civilian facility in a city of major religious significance to Muslims, especially one serving one of Islam's holiest sites, shows a disregard for the sanctity of holy places and the safety of civilian infrastructure. The Arab League emphasized its full solidarity with Saudi Arabia against attacks that threaten its security, stability, and the safety of its citizens and residents.

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) also condemned the attack, labeling it as a dangerous escalation and a blatant violation of the sanctity of holy sites and international and humanitarian laws. The OIC expressed its complete support for Saudi Arabia's measures to protect its territory, maintain security and stability, and safeguard Islamic holy sites and the safety of those living in the country.

The Muslim World League joined in condemning the attack on the Medina power station, reiterating its support for Saudi Arabia's actions to deter future attacks and protect the sacredness of Islamic holy sites and the lives of Muslims.

The General Secretariat of the Arab Interior Ministers Council also voiced its condemnation, reaffirming its full solidarity with Saudi Arabia and backing the measures taken to safeguard Islamic holy sites.
