Doha: The Ministry of Finance, in collaboration with the Government Procurement Regulatory Department, Qatar Development Bank, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, and Qatar Chamber, announced the initiation of the Annual Meeting of the State Procurement Program 2026. This third edition of the forum is being held from October 20 to 22, 2025, under the theme “One Vision, Multiple Opportunities”. This event is recognized as a significant gathering in the realm of government procurement.
According to Qatar News Agency, the announcement was made during a press conference at the Ministry of Finance headquarters, highlighting the ongoing success of the prior two editions. The previous forum witnessed significant attendance, underscoring its role in fostering communication and cooperation between the public and private sectors.
The 2026 Government Procurement Plan Forum serves as a strategic platform to enhance collaboration between government bodies and local businesses. It aims to create an environment conducive to economic growth and technological advancement within the procurement sector. This year’s forum involves participation from over 16 government entities, focusing on areas such as procurement policies, digital transformation, and company classification.
Furthermore, updates on the In-Country Value (ICV) framework for 2026 will be presented. Panel discussions will cover key issues like support for small and medium-sized enterprises, cost-saving opportunities, competitiveness enhancement, investment potential, and the promotion of local products.
The Government Procurement Regulatory Department at the Ministry of Finance is extending an invitation to all companies, entrepreneurs, and interested parties to engage in this third edition of the Forum. The event offers a unique opportunity to gain insights into the government’s procurement plans for 2026 and explore potential partnerships and competitive participation in the national procurement market.
Notably, the previous edition of the Forum attracted over 2,000 participants from the local community, including entrepreneurs, investors, and representatives from various-sized companies. More than 980 representatives from diverse economic sectors participated, fostering an environment conducive to communication and partnership-building.
Participation spanned several key sectors, including manufacturing, services, construction, construction technology, and hospitality, reflecting the Forum’s importance as a national platform for reinforcing public-private sector collaboration, empowering companies, and advancing the national economy.
