Baghdad, The Qatari “Al-Jazeera” News Network announced today, Thursday, that it has decided to refer the file of the killing of Palestinian journalist Sherine Abu Aqleh to the Public Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court.

“We have formed an international legal alliance that includes our legal team and international experts to prepare a complete file to present it to the Public Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court,” Al Jazeera added in a statement on its website.

The statement condemned the killing of Abu Aqleh, who, as Al Jazeera said, had worked in covering the conflict in the occupied Palestinian territories for 25 years.

The network pledged to activate all possible paths to bring “those responsible for the assassination to the platforms of international justice and take their legal punishment,” adding that the legal file will include the bombing of Al-Jazeera office in Gaza by Israeli forces last year.
