Air traffic returns to normal operation in Baghdad International Airport

Baghdad International Airport resumed its air traffic on July 3, after a temporary suspension due to bad weather conditions in the country.

The administration of Baghdad International Airport announced in a statement that the air traffic in the airport has returned to its normal function with the flow of air flights during the day and the visibility of 650m after it stopped operating earlier today due to bad weather conditions that affected the air traffic at the airport.

Iraq is one of the five countries most vulnerable to climate change and desertification in the world, especially due to the increasing drought with high temperatures that exceed fifty degrees Celsius for days in the summer.

Increasing vegetation cover and planting dense trees that serve as windbreaks are the most important solutions needed to reduce the rate of sandstorms.
