Air India cancels more flights originating from Muscat

Passengers travelling on Air India from Muscat to India might need to change their travel timing, after the airline cancelled a number of flights.
The AI 985 flight from Muscat to Mumbai, and the AI 1976 flight from Muscat that first lands in Ahmedabad and then Mumbai has been cancelled.
The same flights will also no longer run, at least until August 31. There is also a change in the flight pattern for planes operating the Muscat – Ahmedabad – Mumbai route.
while the original route for AI 1975 was Mumbai – Ahmedabad – Muscat, it will now operate as AI 1976, which will take off in Muscat, stopover in Ahmedabad, and end its route in Mumbai.
On the other hand, AI 986, which flies from Muscat to Mumbai on these days, will be renamed AI 985, and fly from Mumbai to Muscat.
Similarly, until the end of this month, the AI 973 and AI 974 flights that operate to and from Muscat and New Delhi will no longer operate.
Flights from Hyderabad and Vijayawada to Muscat (AI 999) and from Muscat to Hyderabad (AI 978) will also no longer operate on Tuesdays, until the end of August.
India’s national airline has also said that the Muscat to Chennai route will deploy Neo ISO aircraft until August 31.
Changes in flight plans had to be made “due to operational reasons,” explained the airline. “We would like to thank you for the valued support being extended to Air India.”
“Please inform all passengers regarding the above flights for their immediate rescheduling,” added Air India, in a letter to travel agents in Oman. “We sincerely regret the inconvenience caused on this account.”
