Seoul: At least 89 people were killed and other injured after powerful thunderstorm in Uttar Pradesh state in India.

According to Qatar News Agency, the rainy storm uprooted trees, damaged houses and triggered wall collapses, which resulted in at least 89 deaths and multiple injuries.

Storms are common in Uttar Pradesh during the hot season, which runs from March to June, ahead of the monsoon rains.
