5.6-Magnitude Earthquake Hits Argentina

An earthquake measuring 5.6 magnitude on the Richter scale struck on Tuesday the province of Salta in Argentina.

The US Geological Survey said that the quake occurred 63 km from Embarcacion town, at a depth of 538.1 km.

There have been no reports of casualties or material damage.

In August, a 5.8-magnitude earthquake struck the province of Santiago del Estero, northwest of Argentina, without causing any human or material losses.
