Fukushima:Tokyo An earthquake with a magnitude of 4.6 on the Richter scale struck off the coast of Japan’s Fukushima Prefecture on Tuesday. The tremor was recorded by the Japan Meteorological Agency at a depth of 60 kilometers.

According to Qatar News Agency, there have been no immediate reports of casualties or material damage following the earthquake.

The seismic event comes shortly after a 5.6-magnitude earthquake occurred off the coast of Japan’s Ogasawara Islands the previous night. Japan's geographic location at the junction of four tectonic plates makes it particularly susceptible to seismic activity, and it is home to 100 active volcanoes.
