X Starts Removing Headlines from News Links

Social media platform ‘X’, previously known as Twitter, started removing headlines from news links to undertake a comprehensive reform of the platform.

This will make tweets look better and the move to remove the headlines has been in progress since August, X owner Elon Musk said, adding that will greatly improve the aesthetics as it looks better.

Links posted via X now appear as an image embedded in the article, as well as text in the left corner of the image indicating the link field. Also, users are now forced to click on photos to access news reports posted via the platform, and news outlets and other companies have long posted links across social media sites to direct traffic to their websites in order to monetize users.

Musk previously encouraged users to post more content via X directly in an effort to help boost interaction across the platform, explaining that the platform’s algorithm is trying to improve the time spent using it.
