The Second High-Level Forum of the Islamic Organization for Food Security concludes its work in Doha

The second high-level forum of the Islamic Organization for Food Security, which was organized by the Ministry of Municipality in cooperation with the Islamic Organization for Food Security and lasted for three days, concluded on Tuesday evening in Doha, on the sidelines of the sixth meeting of the organization’s General Assembly, headed by the State of Qatar.

During a press conference held on this occasion, Dr. Masoud Jarallah Al Marri, Director of the Food Security Department at the Ministry of Municipality in Qatar, explained that the forum included many sessions and discussions that aimed to achieve common goals, by holding three sub-forums: The first: Forum on the role of civil society in enhancing security. Food, as civil society organizations play a major role in creating a culture based on rationalizing consumption in proportion to human requirements, avoiding waste, and benefiting from their expertise in this aspect. The second sub-forum dealt with advanced agricultural technology and its role in
promoting sustainable food security and increasing productivity, and knowing what Science has achieved technologies that contribute to increasing agricultural, fish and animal production, while the third sub-forum touched on Islamic food industries and enhancing access to food markets in the countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.

Dr. Masoud Jarallah Al Marri pointed out that these forums represented an appropriate opportunity to exchange opinions and discussions, and to present advanced scientific interventions that were presented by a number of scientists, experts, and policy makers. In order to establish innovative and modern mechanisms that help our countries develop appropriate plans, strategies and programs to reach a more sustainable food security future.

For his part, Dr. Ismail Abdel Hamid, Director of Programs and Projects at the Islamic Organization for Food Security, explained that the three-day forum was attended by a number of experts, leaders and stakeholders from all member sta
tes of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, as it is a platform for constructive dialogue, sharing knowledge and experiences, and formulating partnerships in order to achieve common goals.
