QF to Provide Audio Description Service for the Blind and Visually Impaired During World Cup

Qatar Foundation for Education, Science, and Community Development (QF) revealed providing audio description services for the blind and visually impaired at the opening and closing ceremonies of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, through a team from the Audio-Visual Translation Department of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences at Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU).

In line with QF’s commitment to providing inclusiveness and accessibility within its core missions, and in support of FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, these services will also be provided during matches throughout the tournament, after being successfully introduced for the first time during the Arab Cup.

Four presenters, students, and graduates of the Master of Arts in Audiovisual Translation at Hamad Bin Khalifa University will participate, in both Arabic and English, during the opening and closing ceremonies of the tournament, while 19 presenters will participate in providing this service during the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 matches.
