PM: King leading intensive efforts to stop war on Gaza

Prime Minister Dr. Bishr Khasawneh said His Majesty King Abdullah II, from the first moment of attacks on civilians in the Gaza Strip, is making “unrelenting” efforts to move within a coordinated framework to formulate an international endeavor, aimed primarily at stopping the “raging and escalating” aggression against civilian population in the coastal enclave. In this regard, Khasawneh referred to the King’s current visit to four European capitals of London, Rome, Berlin, and Paris, in addition to his ongoing contacts with various leaders from Arab and friendly countries over the past days. The PM added that these steps come within the framework of crystallizing this international effort that aims to stop this aggression and ensure impartial implementation of international humanitarian law.Additionally, the King’s moves also seek to safeguard common human values, and protect innocent civilians who face the hell of war and do not find shelter, food, or hospitals for their children and wounded people, the P
M pointed out.Continuing: “Silence is an unacceptable option regarding the war and systematic destruction that Gaza’s people suffer, as this policy constitutes silence over an aggression that strips Gazans of their human and legal right to protection and over flagrant Israeli violations of international law.”Khasawneh noted the international community must deal with the war on the Gaza Strip according to specific standards, aimed to condemn the “large-scale ” killing of civilians of Palestinian people, just as it decried killing of Israeli civilians.” In the end, civilian victims are victims, regardless of their identity, nationality, race, or religion,” the PM said. The premier added that: “Palestinian civilians are no less human than others and must be protected and Israel must stop its behavior aimed at preventing entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza.”He referred to Israel’s pressure on more than a million Gazans to move from north to south of Gaza, as its war on the Gaza Strip is raging, which represents a
flagrant violation of international humanitarian law, international law and the entire system of war laws.
