Jordan’s Foreign Ministry Secretary-General Discusses Gaza Crisis with UN Official

AMMAN – Majid Qatarneh, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, met with Sima Bahous, the Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations and Executive Director of UN Women, on Sunday. The meeting focused on the recent developments in Gaza and the ongoing efforts to halt the conflict and protect civilians.

According to Jordan News Agency, the discussion revolved around the need for the international community to act swiftly and responsibly to end the war in Gaza, which has caused immense suffering and a humanitarian crisis. The officials underscored that the conflict violates international humanitarian law, international law, and fundamental moral and human values. The meeting also emphasized the importance of strengthening mechanisms to protect and assist women and children affected by the crisis. Both Qatarneh and Bahous stressed the urgency of international intervention to mitigate the impact of the conflict and bring about a resolution that safeguards civilian lives and well-being.
