ISESCO Calls for Positive Response to Climate Change Phenomenon

The Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) has called for a positive response to the phenomenon of climate change, in light of the global environmental concern it represents that dominates the international agenda.

This came during the sixth edition of the Global Forum for Intercultural Dialogue, which began on Wednsady in the Azerbaijani capital, Baku.

ISESCO is co-organizing it with the Azerbaijani Ministry of Culture and a number of international organizations, and it will continue until May 3.

The forum witnessed a high-level working session for international organizations entitled: /Sustainable paths towards a greener future: cooperation measures for the success of the COP29 conference and beyond.

Dr. Salem bin Mohammed Al-Malik, who is the Director-General of the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO), in his speech at the forum, called for concerted international efforts to combat the effects of climate change, by strengthening th
e work of reliable and specialized international organizations, and their contribution to developing bold and ambitious policies that give priority to environmental sustainability.

He stressed that dealing with the negative effects of climate change is an absolute necessity, to avoid serious consequences for future generations, which requires implementing strict policies on global emissions, investing in renewable energy infrastructure, and supporting initiatives that enhance the ability to adapt to climate change.

Al Malik reviewed the efforts made by ISESCO in pursuit of achieving the common goal of “protecting our planet for future generations” through practical initiatives and programs, highlighting the organizations strong keenness to continuously participate in the United Nations climate change conferences and to contribute to the arrangements for organizing (COP29).
