Gold Prices Fluctuate in Jordan’s Local Market

Amman – The Jordan Jewelers Association reported notable fluctuations in gold prices in the local market. As of Saturday, the price of 21-karat gold, which is highly sought after in the local market, was recorded at JD40.20 per gramme as a purchasing price and JD38.50 as a selling price.

According to Jordan News Agency, Secretary-General Ribhy Allan, speaking to the Jordan News Agency (Petra), stated that the prices for 24-karat and 18-karat gold stood at JD47.40 and JD35.80, respectively. Additionally, he noted that a Rashadi lira, weighing seven grammes, was priced at JD285, while an English lira, weighing eight grammes, reached JD325.

Allan mentioned that the demand and supply for gold in the Jordanian market are currently weak. He also highlighted the global market trends, with gold prices reaching $1,981 per ounce as of Friday. This information provides valuable insights into the dynamics of the gold market, both locally in Jordan and on a global scale.
