Qatar Foundation launched the Artful Minds expo on Tuesday at the venue of Multaqa Gallery, (Education City Student Center).

The expo that will run until Oct. 30 is organized by Qatar Foundation, Education, Research, and Community in partnership with the International Artists Doha (IAD), to mark the World Mental Health Day and envision the intersection between art, health, and well-being, in which public are invited to explore the transformative power of art as means of expressing selfness and recovery.

In her remarks to Qatar News Agency , Community Art Lead at Qatar Foundation, Ameera AlAji, said the expo features the participation of 31 artists from a variety of backgrounds and highlights the significance of the World Mental Health Day through the artistic expression and encouraging joint dialogue about health and well-being in general, affirming that art has an exceptional ability for recovery and empowerment, because art offers a unique method for self-expression.

ly epitomizes such concept, indicating that a contingent of artists are participating in the event whose number reached 31 artists specialized in medicine and engineering, pointing out that these diverse participations have helped artists adapt their art styles to capture accurate discrepancies in mental health between one individual to the other.

The participating artworks extends from abstract expressionism to pure realism, demonstrating the challenges faced by individuals, especially those related to the mental aspect, she added, stressing the importance of holding further conversations about mental health.

She confirmed that the more people talk about mental health the more they can raise awareness, adding that Qatar Foundation primarily aims to conduct discussions and spur community to break the societal stigma surrounding those who deal with psychological challenges, by organizing a myriad of workshops during the expo.
