Activists on Sunday submitted a petition signed by over 2,000 people to various international organizations, demanding action against the “potential” genocide in Gaza. The World Health Organization (WHO) was the only entity that declined to receive the petition, as per the activists’ statement.

According to Jordan News Agency, the petition, titled “Urgent Appeal: Urging INGOs and UN Agencies to Acknowledge the Gaza Genocide,” urges immediate and decisive action against the “potential” genocide by Israeli forces. It seeks to condemn Israel’s actions and calls for an urgent ceasefire. The activists believe that explicitly using the term “genocide” will significantly pressure Western governments to intervene.

The petition demands that International Non-Governmental Organizations (INGOs) and United Nations Agencies acknowledge the potential genocide in Gaza, based on expert reports. It also calls for an urgent ceasefire and the provision of adequate aid, particularly to the northern districts of Gaza. The petition cites evidence from experts such as Craig Mokhiber, the former Director of the New York Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR), and UN Special Rapporteurs, highlighting concerns over crimes against humanity.
