KUWAIT, June 2 (KUNA) — A workshop for members of Yemeni pacification committees kicked off, Thursday, under the supervision of UN counsellors.
The four-day workshop is held within the frame work of the Yemeni peace talks, which are being held in Kuwait.
The workshop focuses on improving documenting skills for members of the committees, whose main job is to monitor ceasefire in Yemeni provinces.
A central pacification and coordination committee was set up late April to communicate with smaller, more local, committees to monitor ceasefire and write reports on major obstacles on the ceasefire process.
Meanwhile, UN Envoy for Yemen Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed will hold other meetings to assess the Yemeni Peace talks progress, later today.
The UN is expected to receive an initial report on the precise number of Yemeni detainees, who will hopefully be freed before the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan. (end) am.nfm
